There are other tools across our great state to help you live a healthier life! The Michigan Health and Wellness 4 x 4 Plan is Michigan's plan to help reduce and prevent obesity in a five years.  The goal of the 4 x 4 Plan is to get every Michgander on the health train and take a pledge to live a healthier lifestyle.  You can do this by eating better and being more active. By living a healthier lifestyle you can: 

  • Improve your blood pressure
  • Lower your cholesterol
  • Decrease your risk for Type 2 Diabetes
  • Decrease back and joint pain
  • Improve mood and self-confidence.

Components of the 4 x 4 tool

You can get on board with the plan by praticing these 4 important things:

  1. Maintain a healthy diet
  2. Engage in regular exercise
  3. Get an annual physical exam
  4. Avoid all tobacco use and exposure

You should also know these 4 health measures:

  1. Your Body Mass Index (BMI)
  2. Your Blood pressure
  3. Your Choleserol level
  4. Your Blood glucose level
