One way our family stays healthy is by playing outside in our beautiful County as often as possible. A typical Saturday for us involves getting out our trail book, deciding where we want to hike, packing up some snacks in our backpacks, and loading up the kids and dog. One of our favorite trails is the “lookout, barn, teepee, monkey cache, secret graveyard trail.” Most people just call it the Bayview Trail (trailhead off of Thoreson Road, a few miles North of Glen Arbor). We love how this simple (and free) activity gets us all unplugged, exploring, learning, and more connected to each other and our backyard.
